DMCA Copyright Policy

DownGoat respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. We respond promptly to valid notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and equivalent laws.

How to file a takedown notice

If you are a copyright owner — or authorised to act on one's behalf — and believe that content listed on DownGoat infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent at [email protected]. To be valid, your notice must include all of the following:

  • Your full name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
  • A clear identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • The exact URL(s) on DownGoat where the allegedly infringing material is located, so we can find it.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next

We review every complete notice and aim to respond within 5 business days. Where a notice is valid, we will remove or disable access to the identified material and, where appropriate, notify the affected party.

Counter-notification

If you believe your content was removed in error or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address. It should identify the material and its location before removal, include your contact details and signature, and contain a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake.

Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances we will remove listings and restrict access for parties who repeatedly infringe the copyrights of others.
